Bochum, 26 January 2011 - Jörg Holstein, director of the Bochum IT service VISUS, looks back on a successful financial year 2010 for his company: "Globally, we have won more than 120 new customers for our integrated image management solutions. Germany remains for us the main market, but a strong OEM business together with the distribution partners has consolidated our strong international position."
In Germany, last year more than 40 hospitals and 30 clinics have reinstalled the systems of VISUS. "We were able to win new customers across the Republic, from Albertine Hospital in Hamburg to the radiology group practice at Herkomerplatz in Munich, which supplies four other locations," said Guido Bötticher, sales manager for Germany. Strongly increased has the number of houses replacing the existing systems. "This applies for example to the radprax GmbH, the practice network Drs Ho, Scherff, Schmitka in Münster, the Caritas Hospital St. Josef Regensburg or even to a complete mammography screening unit," says Boetticher. This trend will continue in his assessment in 2011.
Strategically, more and more hospitals rely on external services such as managed services. So the St. Johannes Hospital Dortmund operates its long-term archive by VISUS and radprax GmbH, a consortium of radiologists, nuclear physician and radiation therapists in Wuppertal, Solingen, Hilden, Dusseldorf, Münster, Arnsberg and Meschede, uses the PACS-operator solution of the Bochum IT provider.
The issue of "hospital-wide image management" with the integration of radiological images as well as photographs and bio-signals from all other disciplines inspires an increased interest among German users. "Here we are able to share with our customers the experience we have gained over the past years in various projects abroad," says Peter Rosiepen VICE President International Sales, responsible for international sales and business development.
An example of this is currently the widespread installation of DICOM ECG JiveX in Lapland (Lappi Tel) and other projects, especially in the Benelux countries and Scandinavia. Particularly in the Middle East, however, classical PACS are in demand. Increasingly teleradiology solutions get a wider distribution. Alliance Medical, a pan-European provider of Imaging Centers, introduced in Poland JiveX Teleradiology to expand its service portfolio, "says Rosiepen.
More than ever, the personal contact with the users is the basis of success. Besides its own symposium, therefore, participation in trade fairs is a very important tool for customer acquisition and care. "Because of the international nature the MEDICA is an important event for us. Here we have the opportunity to meet many of our more than 700 customers in person and make new contacts," Bötticher and Rosiepen agree.
