VISUS supports trend-setting future project of the Sana - Group

Bochum, August 27, 2007 - Within the scope of their project `electronic case file (eFA)´ for trans-sectoral interchange of patient data, the Sana - Group signed a cooperation contract with VISUS. The IT service provider in Bochum uses its established JiveX-solutions and allows the communication and visualization of image and finding documents from graphics providing methods via eFA.

 

Sana would like to realize a telematic user service with which image communication and processing in doctor/doctor relations as well as in doctor/patient relations can be run as portal solutions. Combined solutions for integrated image communication for cooperating houses and referring people should be developed and implemented for this. "In the fields PACS and image distribution we are working with VISUS for a long time in different houses. It was only logical to also continue the existing partnership in this project and to get hold of know how especially in DICOM communication," Gerald Götz said.

 

"As IT-provider it is challenging for us to play an essential role in the success of such an innovative and trend-setting project for managed care," the CEO of VISUS, Jörg Holstein, underlines. "Security in inter - operability of EDV systems is part of future challenges in health care to ensure targeted and secured providing of information for all protagonists in consideration of relevant data security and data safety aspects."

 

The Sana - project eFA is hereafter geared to the highly growing need for state of the art software technology for image and finding communication in medical networks. "We are standing in a pilot phase in the Sana hospitals of Stuttgart, Remscheid and Berlin currently. Roll - out of all houses is planed for the first quarter of 2008. In five years at the latest I expect the area-wide adoption for Germany supported by activities in connection to the electronic health card," Mr. Götz dares to see the future.
