The German Healthcare Export Group - GHE is representing the most important companies of the German healthcare sector which especially operate in the export business. Now the GHE has got about 50 members which compound from all fields of the healthcare area, apart from pharmaceutical and dental products. A large part deals in electro and medical technology, followed by consumables and commodities, physiotherapy, orthopaedics, laboratories, services and publishing products. Moreover, GHE-companies also offer products from fields such as rescue equipment, emergency medical aid, diagnostics, information and communication technology.

In total, the German Healthcare Export Group represents approximately 80 per cent of the German export volume in the sector of medical technology.

The goal of the IHE initiative is to stimulate integration of healthcare information resources to improve clinical care. IHE develops and publishes detailed frameworks for implementing established data standards to meet specific healthcare needs and supports testing, demonstration and educational activities to promote the deployment of these frameworks by vendors and users.
