Data release with a plan
The days of a patient's CD are over. With JiveX Link Share, hospitals can securely share radiological images and the complete clinical context via a link: Quickly, in compliance with standards, and cloud-ready.
Twelve years ago, we were the first provider ever to introduce what at that time was a new form of data exchange in the healthcare sector: JiveX Link Share. What was once ahead of its time is now standard - the patient CD, on the other hand, is approaching the end of its life cycle. JiveX Link Share has been consistently developed further since then: Into a high-performance, standards-compliant solution that directly prepares hospitals for the transition to the cloud.
More than a slip of paper with a QR code: The complete clinical context
In combination with JiveX Enterprise PACS and JiveX Healthcare Content Management (HCM), JiveX Link Share not only shares radiological image data but also the complete clinical context at the touch of a button. At the end of a hospital stay, all relevant documents and examination results - from laboratory findings to discharge reports - can thus be selected and bundled via a single link.
Integration instead of stand-alone
JiveX Link Share integrates seamlessly into existing hospital workflows instead of operating as an isolated island solution:
- Electronic discharge processes: Interface-driven creation of release links
- Integration of findings: Links are sent directly into the findings
- Patient portals: Centralized provision, for instance via m.Doc
- ePA4All-Integration of JiveX HCM: Imaging data can be provided as a QR code directly via the electronic patient record – currently unique within the industry
- Classic print-out: Still possible where digital channels are not (yet) in effect
Four-digit daily link volumes are possible
Presets and metadata maintain order and optimize processes as well as costs. Via the JiveX web interface, you can individually configure numerous parameters for each customer, location, or user, for example:
- Type of recipient (physician, patient, MDK (Medical Review Board of Health Insurers)
- Scope of released data
- Link expiry period
Links can be renewed or extended with a single click via the integrated management system - a highly practice-relevant advantage given the overburdened specialist practices and long waiting times for follow-up appointments. "JiveX Link Share is extremely high-performing and absolutely stable; large healthcare networks use it to send a four-digit number of links every day as part of their routine operation", reports Melanie Dessel, responsible for product portfolio management.
At the same time, JiveX Link Share meets the high, GDPR-compliant security standards according to Recommendations of the Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (BSI) [Federal Office for Information Security], features brute-force protection, and stores data separately from the in-house hospital systems.
From 2027: Data import directly via the Cloud
JiveX Link Share complies with the new DIN standard DIN/TS 19455 – DICOM Link Exchange (DLX) for the digital exchange of medical image data in the healthcare sector. This is no coincidence: We played a key role in the development of the DLX standard and are actively involved in its next stage of evolution.
The next evolutionary stage is planned for 2027: JiveX Link Share will then be available as Software as a Service (SaaS) in the cloud and will support the direct import of DLX-compliant QR codes and links. What this means in practical terms for hospitals is:
- no longer a local installation,
- no internal operating expenses and
- security at the highest level.
