DICOM e-mail finally goes IHE!

In December we wrote a report about the Correction Proposal 408 „Best practice for the grouping of PDI with XDM“. Now it’s official: The Technical Committee of the IHE Radiology Domain has agreed to combine DICOM objects with PDF and other documents in one transport medium (e.g. patient CD or e-mail).

Thereby, the first step was done in bringing DICOM e-mail functions into the Technical Framework of the IHE. This clears the way for an IHE-compliant exchange of treatment-relevant (image) data via e-mail.
