VISUS establishes a firm footing for a successful future

  • VISUS Headquarter

Gesundheitscampus-Süd 15-17, 44801 Bochum, Germany - With immediate effect, this is the new address for innovative ideas and products in medical data management. Around one year after the foundation stone was laid, the paint had dried on the walls of the new VISUS company head office on the Bochum health campus by mid-February, and the big move could begin. The servers are now purring away at the new site, and the offices are filled with life. However, the new address is not the only change to the VISUS letterhead.

"We took advantage of the move and the associated formal changes to implement the long sought-after deliberations for a change in trading name, in order to sharpen the company profile. The change in trading name had become necessary because the VISUS activities now also extend to business areas beyond medicine, and we wanted to ensure clear delineations and points of contact. From March 1, therefore, the healthcare division is trading under the name VISUS Health IT GmbH. All projects outside health IT, above all non-destructive materials testing (NDT), are initially being consolidated under the umbrella of VISUS Industry IT," explains Jörg Holstein, VISUS founder and managing director.

Despite these various changes - there's no change for our customers. And even VISUS employees need only a minimal adjustment to their working day. That's because the new company buildings are located around a kilometer as the crow flies from our old site, still very close to the Ruhr-Universität Bochum. The reward for the efforts involved in moving is more space, along with an innovative spatial concept with modern workstations and an optimal IT infrastructure.

At the heart of the healthcare think-tank

VISUS has invested around EUR 7.5 million in the wholly-new building, which offers space for up to 200 employees - thus also allowing space for the company's future development. And that development is a firm part of the company's planning, according to Holstein: "An address on the Health Campus provides the ideal conditions for practically-oriented R&D. It's a place where established SMEs and young start-ups come together in a unique way, benefiting mutually from the respective know-how the other brings. We are looking forward to the excitement of these encounters, and to continuing to supply our customers with market-relevant innovations."

The 'Bochumer Gesundheitscampus' ('Health Campus') is an area of 55,000 m2 in the heart of the Ruhrgebiet area, and a trailblazing project for networking of public establishments in health administration, health research and teaching, and innovative entrepreneurship. The Health Campus has established a nationwide reputation in Germany, notably due to the "Hochschule für Gesundheit", the country's first state-funded university for the healthcare professions. It is very popular with next-generation talents.
