EPD projectathon: VISUS tested in Switzerland

Close on 800 tests in five days: that's the result from the second EPD projectathon in Bern (Switzerland). VISUS also again successfully passed not all, but quite a few of these tests.

One focus of this event organized by eHealthSuisse, lay in the correct implementation of the security aspects involved in the electronic patient dossier (EPD) in relation to authentication and authorization.

JiveX HCM also plays a role in connection with EPD in Switzerland. Hospitals are using various system modules to satisfy the requirements of EPDs on IHE infrastructure. "This year, we again competed with our product in the Projectathon as a "Health Professional Portal (HPP)", and in addition to a number of "minor" tests we also successfully took part in the group test for calling off image data from the EPD. Furthermore, we also proved successful in the tests to create a new EPD for a patient," explains Sven Luttmann, an XDS system engineer at VISUS.

Overall, Luttmann assesses the degree of maturity of the systems and of the underlying tests as significantly higher than last year. As a result, the group tests were able to be performed quicker and more successfully. Moreover, many of our systems were clearly better prepared, making the test procedure quicker overall and allowing time to concentrate on the important things in the specification, such as data protection and data security.
