Our Strength in Interoperability
"MeineSana" is designed to create a completely digital patient care experience for the three million patients Sana Kliniken AG serves each year. From preventive measures and outpatient services to hospital stays and aftercare, the company aims to digitally map every step of the entire patient journey. At the heart of this transformation, with the central data storage system serving as its backbone, is our JiveX Healthcare Content Management (HCM). Our system serves as the central IHE repository for over 40 Sana clinics, participating in the rollout of the project.

Interface integration is one of the main challenges, and VISUS's extensive expertise in interoperability is certainly a major advantage here. This capability is especially crucial with the growing trend towards outpatient and cross-sectoral care.

Winning this tender in a Europe-wide request for proposals (RFP) was a testament to the mutual trust between Sana and VISUS, built over many years of collaboration. After all, "MeineSana," largely funded by the Hospital Future Act (KHZG), is an enormous endeavor, comprising five intricate, interconnected components. This complexity required frequent adjustments and functional enhancements, particularly since many third-party software tenders were still pending when the project began.
Close to 15 Experts on Board
Around 10 to 15 of our team members have been actively involved in the "MeineSana" project. Working with passion and dedication, our successful collaboration has been defined by weekly meetings with Sana's project team and daily interactions between technical experts on both sides. Additionally, the rollout of the IHE repository, which took place at the end of April, marked another important milestone. By late summer, the Sana Kliniken Leipziger Land hospital and its patients are expected to be among the first users of some of the key components of "MeineSana."
Following this, the Golden Master — the final version of the data storage system provided by VISUS — will be deployed to the other participating clinics, keeping Sana's preferences and priorities in mind. Depending on the size of the medical facility, up to 1.5 million documents could be transferred. Our application experts will oversee and support the go-live phase, with on-site training sessions already planned, as well. According to Sana board member Stefanie Kemp, the project already underscores "why we place so much value on long-term development partnerships," with Martin Klingelberg adding: "We are proud to demonstrate our reliability and expertise even for large-scale projects of this scope and significance."
