The release of JiveX Enterprise PACS 5.5 marks a major update, introducing a version packed with many new and useful features. Performing an update is therefore highly recommended. 1. Why should I perform the software update?

Because of enhanced security, bug fixes, improved performance, new functionalities, and compatibility with the latest technologies.

2. How do I perform the software update?

The JiveX update is carried out by our update experts. We have a dedicated team of specialists for this particular purpose.

3. Is the software update free?

The JiveX update itself is free as it is included in your maintenance contract. The service for implementing your update, however, is billed separately.

4. Is the update compatible with my current data?

Yes, the JiveX update is compatible with your existing data and does not alter it. The update only adds new functions.

5. Can I revert to an earlier version after the update?

A rollback to a previous version is certainly possible, although we have not seen such a need among our customers in recent years.

6. How long does the software update take?

The system’s expected downtime depends on the scope of the update and the I/O performance of the server. Since JiveX 5.5 is a major release, the changes in the system structure are quite extensive. We therefore recommend starting the update early in the day.

Subsequently, any outstanding cases will be checked to determine if they can be resolved through the update. This may require server restarts, which will be communicated to you in advance. For an exact timeline, please contact update(at)visus.com.

7. Will the update affect my individual settings?

Your user profiles, group settings, and roles will remain unchanged, with only new features being added.

8. What if we encounter an issue during the update process?

We mitigate such risks through thorough backups and system snapshots beforehand, which allows us to revert to the previous state if complications arise.

9. Will the software be slower after the update?

On the contrary, due to some updates at the core of JiveX, such as new database technologies or Java environments, the system will become faster.

10. Is an internet connection required to perform the update?

An internet connection is not required, as all the necessary resources are provided on the servers beforehand.

11. How frequently are software updates released?

Major updates are rolled out approximately every 1 to 1.5 years. You are free to update to newer versions as often as you wish, without any restrictions.

12. Is training necessary after the update?
